Skandifest

Each year in September, Fjordings West
puts on the Fall Nordic Horse Show in
Turlock, CA. The show is open to all
Nordic breeds including the Norwegian
Fjord, Icelandic Horse, and Swedish
Gotland. This is a fun-filled event with
something for everyone. Show classes
include Western & English Riding,
Pleasure & Obstacle Driving, "Play
Day" (Gymkhana), and specialty classes
like Icelandic Tolt. Demonstrations
include costume, handi-capable riders,
the Icelandic drill team, and much more!

Our involvement in Skandifest began in
1991 with just two horses pulling a cart
in the festival parade. We've come a
long way... the 2001 Nordic Horse
Show saw over 75 Fjordhorses and
rider/drivers compete in 77 classes!
2001 was also the first year of the
much-anticipated Norwegian Fjord
Horse Registry's American Evaluation.

We invite you to visit Skandifest in
2002. In addition to the horse show,
there are many Nordic activities in the
Skandi "Village" including music, food,
cultural exhibits, and SHOPPING.
